Feel My Pain

5/31/2012

Now that the Miami Heat are up 2-0, there are many haters lurking the NBA fan scene. People are stating that Lebron travels and that the refs are on the Heat’s side. HAHA, this is just hilarious. Kobe travels all the time and the Lakers are cheaters. I will never forget 2002, and now finally people realize that the NBA game can possibly be rigged? I am not saying that Miami has help from the refs, I am just saying that anything Miami does that is amazing is never recognized. Anything they do to impress the crowd just increases the hate from the haters. Which is awesome in my opinion.

If you really watched last nights game with no bias, the Heat played amazing offense in the third quarter, the quarter where the Heat usually take over based on the past couple of games. The Heat are in a winning streak themselves, but not like the Spur’s 20 game-winning streak, but a simple 4-0 game-winning streak. I am glad the tables have turned, and people are finally feeling the wrath I feel for my Kings. These assumptions cannot be proven like my opinion though. Props to Tim Donaghy.

Top 10 Iconic NBA Playoff Moments via Yahoo Sports

5/23/2012

The list:

10. Van Gundy holds on (Knicks-Heat, 1998)
9. Big Shot Rob (Kings-Lakers, 2002)
8. Mutombo’s tears of joy (Nuggets-Sonics, 1994)
7. Reggie’s furious finish (Pacers-Knicks, 1995)
6. MJ’s legend is born (Bulls-Cavaliers, 1989)
5. Reed’s inspirational limp (Knicks-Lakers, 1970)
4. Larry’s legendary steal (Celtics-Pistons, 1987)
3. Magic’s junior skyhook (Lakers-Celtics, 1987)
2. Havlicek steals the ball (Celtics-76ers, 1965)
1. Jordan’s last shot of glory (Bulls-Jazz, 1998)

As a loyal Sacramento Kings fan, number 9 sticks out like a sore thumb for me. Not only because it involves my amazingly good old Kings, but it involves the deepest cut to all Sacramento Kings fans EVER in the Sacramento era since 1985.

2002, the stage was set for the Sacramento Kings to win it all. This game where Robert Horry made the three-point shot off of Vlade Divac’s volleyball slap was certainly an amazing shot for Laker Fans, but such a heart-breaker for all Sacramento Kings fans. Without discussing the referee job, this game was the ticket to the finals for the Kings. If that shot never happened, Kings would have took the highly-deserved throne as Kings. This game basically changed the whole momentum for each teams. The Lakers were extremely happy off of that game-winner while the Kings as deeply hurt. This certainly played a factor in the next games.

A small city market, with big hearts, Sacramento. The Kings have had 19/26 sellouts for tickets for the first 26 seasons here in Sacramento. The Sacramento Kings are the only big national team we have to represent us. Growing up, this was the only thing giving us national representation. For a basketball team to change a city for the better, it means a lot. The Kings will always have that underdog mentality, and thats how I live, so I will always back up my Kings. Many disagree to this statement, but I will always say it with my Sacramento Heart, the Sacramento Kings are the real 2002 NBA Champions.

No Heat from the Miami Heat

5/21/2012

Okay let’s set some facts straight, the Miami Heat are my second favorite team. My reasoning was explained a while ago here. The Miami Heat just won yesterday against the Indiana Pacers 2-2. The Pacers are a more even even team when comparing to the Heat, meaning that they do not have three superstars and a non-supporting cast. The Pacers are a more complete team and strive on teamwork, which is what I believe is the key to winning a championship. I am not trying to say its bad to have one amazing superstar, but it is more important if the team feels that they contributed something other than passing to the superstar for the assist. I feel the Heat’s supporting cast always disappears during the playoffs, especially last year. Mike Bibby, Mike Miller, etc from LAST year missed many open three-pointer attempts. I am seeing better consistency from Battier and Miller this year, but they are still missing quite many treys still in this playoffs. With no disregards to Chalmer’s excellent play in game 3, where was he game 4?

The Heat are too dependent on James and Wade at the moment. We know they could drop 30-40 points a night, but for how long? It’s better to have team work in order for them to have energy for future games, plus they should have been dominating ever since they formed in my opinion. They should have won last year in my opinion, with all the media hyping them up. I have never felt confident in the Heat just yet, that confidence you get when you watch old Michael Jordan games in the past. It doesn’t feel good to see the Heat down at half time like yesterday in game 4. The Heat “Big Three” Wade, Bosh, James have not found that sense of teamwork between each other and it is certainly having its effect. I hope the Heat do have what it takes to take it all, but with more teamwork. Lebron does get many assists, but the 40 points for him and 30 points for Wade gives them the slight emphasis that they are ball-hogs. I think the Heat still needs a better supporting cast, I really hate their short big-men. No Heat in Miami at the moment.
