Okay let’s set some facts straight, the Miami Heat are my second favorite team. My reasoning was explained a while ago here. The Miami Heat just won yesterday against the Indiana Pacers 2-2. The Pacers are a more even even team when comparing to the Heat, meaning that they do not have three superstars and a non-supporting cast. The Pacers are a more complete team and strive on teamwork, which is what I believe is the key to winning a championship. I am not trying to say its bad to have one amazing superstar, but it is more important if the team feels that they contributed something other than passing to the superstar for the assist. I feel the Heat’s supporting cast always disappears during the playoffs, especially last year. Mike Bibby, Mike Miller, etc from LAST year missed many open three-pointer attempts. I am seeing better consistency from Battier and Miller this year, but they are still missing quite many treys still in this playoffs. With no disregards to Chalmer’s excellent play in game 3, where was he game 4?
The Heat are too dependent on James and Wade at the moment. We know they could drop 30-40 points a night, but for how long? It’s better to have team work in order for them to have energy for future games, plus they should have been dominating ever since they formed in my opinion. They should have won last year in my opinion, with all the media hyping them up. I have never felt confident in the Heat just yet, that confidence you get when you watch old Michael Jordan games in the past. It doesn’t feel good to see the Heat down at half time like yesterday in game 4. The Heat “Big Three” Wade, Bosh, James have not found that sense of teamwork between each other and it is certainly having its effect. I hope the Heat do have what it takes to take it all, but with more teamwork. Lebron does get many assists, but the 40 points for him and 30 points for Wade gives them the slight emphasis that they are ball-hogs. I think the Heat still needs a better supporting cast, I really hate their short big-men. No Heat in Miami at the moment.
